The world of residential construction has a heavy bias toward wood, and, as a result, most home builders aren’t too familiar with lightweight steel framing, or structural steel framing. After all, steel is for those commercial guys, right? Well, actually, steel has a lot to like about it, and can often solve problems—or at least offer useful alternatives—in situations where wood falls short.
