Paint Behind Strike Plates
Add a professional finish to door-hardware installations with a small, site-made spray box.
I don’t like to leave the wood unfinished behind strike plates, so I paint them a color similar to the door hardware. I start by smoothing the hole in the jamb with fast-drying painter’s caulk or putty. I then create a mini spray booth out of a cardboard box and masking tape and give the hole a couple blasts with spray paint. It’s the small details like this that will distinguish your work from the other guy’s.
