Kyle Flondor — Product Manager, Wallboard.

Kyle oversees the portfolio of USG’s Sheetrock® and Securock® branded gypsum panels, providing support to USG’s Sales teams and all customers – designers, distributors, contractors, building officials, and building owners. Prior to his current role, Kyle served as Fire Systems Lead at USG’s Corporate Innovations Center, where he led the efforts with testing agencies and assisted all stakeholders with large and small projects involving USG products and systems. Kyle has been an active member of the Gypsum Association (GA), American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), International Code Council (ICC), International Firestop Council (IFC), and UL Standards Technical Panel (UL STP).


Ian Schwandt — Production Manager at TDS Custom Construction and FHB Contributing Editor

Contributing editor Ian Schwandt is the production manager for TDS Custom Construction in Madison, Wis. After a varied field career spanning commercial construction for the healthcare industry and owning an architectural woodworking shop, Ian returned to residential construction and developed an interest in high-performance building and construction-business finance.


Aron Jones — Co-founder and supervisor at Big Dog Construction Inc.

With his first career in the military leading him to become a construction tech, Aron has been a teacher and mentor to apprentices in the carpentry trade for many years. Receiving his Carpentry Red Seal in 2002, Aron has always endeavored to build better whenever possible. He has a true passion for building science and strives to help others understand it so that the industry as a whole can become better. He features all of his hands-on experience on his social media platforms for anyone to learn from. Aron co-founded International Flashing Awareness Day in 2021, an annual Instagram event to demonstrate why flashing is important to a building and what happens when it is not installed or used properly. He is co-host of BS* and Beer Canada every month online. One of Aron’s favorite sayings is, “I like to be the dumbest guy in a room full of BS* people.”(*Building Science)
